A moth got into my WD-65737!!!

Postby embryo » Sun Jul 18, 2010 6:23 pm

My TV isn't a month old and I've got a moth flying around inside it projecting itself onto all my movies and games and knocking it's "wing dust" all over the internals! Rediculous...
Can anybody tell me WHY in the world they'd not put some sort of filter over the air intake vent on the back of the case?

Anybody else had this situation? I'm certainly not qualified to work on it myself, so have contacted a service center, who will call me back after the weekend, but I'm wondering if anybody else has taken measures to prevent this happening to their unit, and if so, how did you protect it. I'm now taping a piece of panty hose over the vent in the back to prevent more moths getting in, but am concerned that I might be reducing the fresh air inflow too much. Thoughts?

Really the best thing is to keep your tv set at a place where air can run right through the tv. You have to have the vents open other wise the tv will overheat, Once every 3. months, dust it out with a compressed air can.
