Lines down screen

Postby btown1056 » Tue Jun 09, 2009 9:21 pm

I have a Mitsubishi WD-57732 and I have lines that are going down the screen. I bought a new optical engine but that did not help so wondering if the lamp can cause that or what the problem may be.

Hi btown1056,

definitely the lamp cannot cause that issue, the lamp just provide white light to the light engine system, so if you have picture without brightness issues then your lamp is working fine. Your problem could be in the DMD or digital board, but since you've just replaced the complete light engine I think your digital board is the problem.

Display the TV menu and check is those lines affect it, if they don't then we can be sure that your DMD board is working fine.

Check also if the lines appear with all the inputs, if so then my recommendation is to replace the digital board, if just analog inputs are affected then replace the analog board.

Hope this helps.

I switched it from the cable input to the antenna input and it still had the lines but when I switched to the HDMI input it just showed a blue screen but I don't have anything hooked into the HDMI input.

Any idea what the digital board may be called because I went into partstore.com and all the parts have like initials for them and I just don't know which one it is. By the way thank you for all your help.

Before buying anything I recommend you to connect any device to the HDMI input, If the lines don't show on it then you need to replace your analog board.

I don't know of any initials for digital boards. Maybe what you saw are part numbers.

ok I took the HD box from the living room into the bedroom where the TV is and hooked it up through the HDMI and it actually was worse than just being hooked up through a coax cable.

some of them are part numbers like ,934C225001, but they all have something like for example, PWB-DM, also

Ok, what you can do is to take out your digital board (You're going to do this soon or later anyway) and see the actual part number. Then you can go back to the store and look for an identical board :D .

Ok I will have to look it up online to see which board the digital board is and once I get one I will let you know what happened.

Well my television was messed up for about 2 weeks and when I woke up this morning and turned it on it was working fine. I have no idea why it would do this but I'm just glad it works.

Ok, that's weird. If the problem comes back try to clean inside your TV, it seems like you don't have a broken part so maybe your TV just need a cleaning.

If you have any other issue feel free to get back to us :)
