Mitsubishi WD-73833

Help! We have a Mitsubishi WD-73833 DLP TV. The picture is bright but the color is very "faded". The picture actually looks like a "negative" of a photograph. A repair man said it needed an "engine" with an estimated part price of $800.00 and $200.00 for labor. What kind of "engine" do we need? Is it a "light engine"?
