WD-57732, Picture appears very cloudy but not dim.

The picture on my WD-57732 appears cloudy, as if your were watching through fog. I have spoken with Mitsu. and they dont think it is bulb related. I am trying to avoid bringing in a repair person, any ideas? ;)

It might be a bulb issue, or related with the DMD since this board creates the picture.
The DMD has a matrix of mircroscopical mirrors that hinges to a ON and OFF position very rapidly in order to create and reflect a image to the screen.
Some times this matrix of micromirrors (for each pixel on screen) can have some issues in a mathematical arrangement 1 column Off and 1 column working, and this might create a blurry image.

I will try definetly a new lamp first, before spending on a DMD.

I think I will, I bought the wd-57732 for $50.00, so I hope that even if I have to put a few hundred in it I'll have as good a unit as my Mitsu. 55". It has a little more than 12,000 hours on its bulb and has never needed repair. Do you think it could be related to dirty mirrors?

:geek: it could,

but I will definitely try the bulb first, most of the time, I will say 95% of the time this resolves it.
