I have a Sony Model #KDF 46E200. It had a messege displayed for about a month that the projection lamp was close to ending its life. We tryed to turn it on and the screen would not come on. There is a low electrical buzzing sound for about a minute and then the lamp light located below the screen turns red. Do I need a new lamp?

Hello Joe.
There is a very high possibility that all you need is a new lamp (to learn more view this topic viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1263 ), how ever if you replace it & nothing happens, try resetting the lamp timer.

the buzzing noise on the other hand is a little suspicious, If all of the above dose not make you tv work properly then the next suspect might be the ballast.
