Help.

When I turn on the tv I get vertical lines on the screen, mostly black but sometimes all colors. the more i press buttons on the remote the more vertical lines that come up. from time to time when i turn on the tv no lines come up. now i am in no way an expert in tv repair, but it seems to me that the video part of the tv is ok, but when the extra displays ( menu display, tools display, volume bar) on the screen come up the more lines show up.

Any help will be appreciated.

I think the problem could be in the video board which is the controller of the TV functions (menu, volume adjust, etc.)

yes, it does help, it points me in the right direction.
but i could not find the video board in the service manual, is it called by another name.
