My tv failed to come on the other morning and the lamp indicator started blinking. I unplugged the unit and ordered the Sony 2100U bulb replacement. After I installed the bulb, hooked everything up, and pressed the power button; the unit tried to start up. I even saw a faint picture a couple of times during the first attempt. After a little time and no complete startup the lamp indicator started blinking again. I tried re-seating the bulb multiple times with no luck. Could it be the ballast? The original bulb looked rough when I pulled it out. I appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks

Ok, first of all did you close the lamp door completely?
If you answered yes, when you try and turn on your TV do you hear any strange noises coming from the back of the TV?
Have you serviced your TV in the last 6 months (cleaned it from the inside free of dust and mold)?
Im also suspecting that it’s the ballast but not sure.
