Dark Screen on HD-61Z575

Postby f1jimbo » Tue Jun 23, 2009 5:43 pm

The entire screen on my tv has been getting darker over the last month or so, it's now so dark that I can not read the guide or any words on the screen. I have changed the bulb and then put the old one back in and there's no difference. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I think you could have some dust on one of the lens. It could also be that you have a misplaced lamp...

The screen is the darkest in the center at the bottom, if that makes a diffence.

Thanks

Vacuum all the dust inside the TV, just to discard the cheaper possible solution.

Does the menu looks also dark?

Yes the menu is dark, you can't even rear it at the bottom of screen.

Is this something that I can change or do I need to take to JVC dealer to get fixed. I spent three hours yesterday vacuuming and cleaning inside, which it needed it but it didn't help the picture. Thanks

I broke down and took it in, it was the high dollar part that I was afraid of. $1400 to $1500 to fix. I'm out, I'll just go get something else and it won't be a JVC.

Thanks, for everyones help
