Small DLP Problem

Postby plyons7890 » Thu Mar 19, 2009 12:27 am

Hello all. And thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.

I have a Magnavox 50 inch DLP model 50ML8105D/17. I bought it off Craigslist back in December, and its been working fantastic.

Now of course something has popped up.

In the lower left hand corner of the screen, about a half inch in, is what almost looks like a yellowish tint in one very small area of the screen. Not even noticeable, but it is to my nit picky eye. I've removed the lamp and cleaned (there was some dust) and now i'm thinking it may be a smudge or piece of dust on the color wheel? Dont want to do any damage here so i'd like some advice on what to do?

Thanks all!

plyons7890,

I don't know have an answer for you, but I know that this is a serious problem...It differently doesn't sound like a lamp or ballast issue :(
