I have a Samsung hls5087wx/xaa and it has a 1 to 1 1/2 inch translucent black band that runs top to bottom on the right side of the screen. The band is narrower at the top and wider at the bottom. In other words the black band is angled. I called for an in home repair and the technician that arrived told me he had never seen this type of problem. My husband replace the lamp which made the picture brighter, but did not solve the translucent black band problem. Any direction or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you for your time. This is a common symptom of the dmd board. But if you have a chance to post more details like tv's previous repairs and tv's age etc... some pictures would be great help for us here.
