toshiba 57hm167 lamp burned out???

Hey all, I just acquired this tv and going through the diagnostics this is what i have. plug tv in and the yellow light will blink 3 times then 2 times then 1 time. then green light will stay light all the time. i push power button and it will go through the 8 cycles then the yellow light will stay on all the time and red will blink. i push power button again and a voice will say lamp problem or something like that. everything i am reading is saying new bulb but i don't want to put money into a tv that is 4 years old without knowing for sure. i took the bulb assembly out and did a visual and didn't see much wrong. Is there a way for knowing for sure??? any help is greatly appreciated!
