Vizio P50 Won't turn off fully

I have a Vizio Plasma P50m what its doing is when I press the power button the screen goes semi dark and the sound goes off. There is no click which I usually hear (when it goes completely off) and when you turn the lights out you can tell the screen is still on. The only way to turn off is to pull the power plug. Then sometimes when turning on the display will not come on and no click but sound is there. I am a coast guard electronics tech so if anybody has any parts ideas it would really help. Thanks.
