  • Switch off the power to the Optoma PRO150S projector by pressing the Power/Standby button.
  • Disconnect the power cord.
  • Allow the projector to cool down for at least 30 minutes. If should be cool to the touch. These projectors run using high temperatures and you can burn yourself badly if you don’t allow the projector to cool down.

Install the new Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp:

  • Remove the new Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp from its packaging.
  • Taking care not to touch the actual bulb, lift up the handle on the new lamp and insert it gently into the Optoma PRO150S projector.
  • Tighten the two screws on the projector lamp.
  • Replace the lamp cover and tighten its two screws. Reset the lamp timer.

Reset the Lamp Replacement Timer

The Optoma PRO150S projector has an automatic lamp timer that tracks the numbers of hours left in the projector lamp. When the Optoma BL-FU185A  projector lamp is approaching end of life, the lamp replacement timer will trigger the warning system. If you don’t reset the lamp replacement timer you run the risk of the projector lamp being used beyond its recommended life and possibly exploding in the projector.

  • NEVER change the lamp unless the Viewsonic PJD6241 projector is cool to the touch as it operates under high temperatures and you can burn yourself quite badly.
  • Switch off the power to the Viewsonic PJD6381 projector.
  • Disconnect the power cord.

1. Use a screwdriver to undo the screw holding the Viewsonic RLC-049 lamp cover in place. Remove the lamp cover, being careful not to lose the screws.

2. Slide the lid — slowly — off the projector. and place to one side. Don’t lose the lid because the Viewsonic PJD6241 projector will not turn back if the lamp cover hasn’t been installed properly.

3. Remove the two screws holding the Viewsonic RLC-049 lamp in place.

4. Grab the Viewsonic RLC-049 lamp by it’s side edges and slowly lift the lamp put of the projector. Be careful not to bang the lamp against the projector as this may case the bulb to break.

Reset the Lamp Replacement Timer

The Viewsonic PJD6381 projector has an automatic lamp timer that tracks the numbers of hours left in the lamp. Each time you install a new lamp, you’ll need to to reset the lamp timer to know how many hours are left and when to change the bulb.

To reset the Lamp Replacement Timer:

  • Turn on the projector.
  • Using the remote press MENU
  • Scroll to the main menu
  • Select Settings
  • Scroll down to Lamp Hours

  • These projectors operate under high temperatures and there is a risk of burning if the projector has not cooled enough. Allow the PD120 to cool for one hour. It should be cool to the touch.

2 Lift the cover off the projector and place it to one side.

5. Tighten the screws on the new Acer EC.K0700.001 projector lamp.

6. Put the lid back onto the projector. Tighten the screw holding the lid in place. Plug the AC cables back into the projector. Turn the project on so you can reset the lamp timer.

Resetting the Lamp timer

It’s important to always reset the lamp timer after replacing the projector lamp in your Acer PD120 projector. You want the projector to track how many hours the lamp has been used and send out warning messages when the Acer EC.K0700.001 reaches end of life.

  • Open the MAIN MENU. Press ENTER.
  • Scroll down to the MANAGEMENT menu. Press ENTER.

  • The lamp will be reset to zero.
  • You can set the Eco Mode and Lamp Hours left plus time remaining.

  • Disconnect the power cord on the Boxlight XP-60m projector.
  • Reduce the risk of severe burns by allowing the Boxlight XP-60m projector to cool for at least 45 minutes. These projectors operate using high temperatures and you run the risk of severe burns if you don’t allow it to cool down.

First step: Buy authentic projector lamp

Be sure to install an authentic Hitachi CP-X605 projector lamp to keep your projector working at its best. You’ll need a Hitachi DT00771 CPX605 projector lamp.

Avoid generics. With their inferior parts, combined with a shorter life means counterfeit projector lamps cost you more in the end. Avoid exposure to the toxic materials and parts used to create the lamps and keep your warranty in place. Look for the seal of approval to make sure you are getting an authentic projector lamp.

Signs your projector lamp needs to be replaced:

  • Hitachi CP-X605 Lamp Indicator light will start flashing red.
  • Color tone on the screen may also appear weak or washed out.

Replace the projector lamp

Turn the Hitachi CP-X605 projector off, and unplug the power cord. Allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes. It should be cool to the touch. This projector works using high heat and there is danger you can be burned.

NOTE: If the projector is mounted on the ceiling, don’t stand underneath the projector while opening the cover.

Slowly pick up the projector lamp by its handle and pull out taking care not to bang the bulb on the side of the projector. Finish the installation:

  • Insert the new Hitachi DT00771 CPX605 projector lamp making sure to line it up properly and tighten the three lamp screws.
  • Slide the cover back onto the projector, lock it in place and fasten the screw.
  • Turn on the projector and set the lamp time:

  • Scroll down to the OPTION menu in the left column and press ENTER.
  • Scroll down to LAMP TIME. Press ENTER To make a dialogue field appear
  • Scroll up to the RESET option on the dialogue box.
  • The lamp setting will be set to zero.

Step 2: Recognize end of life warnings

NOTE: These instructions can also be used for the Eiki LC-X4A projector.

The Eiki LC-X4LA uses two Eiki POA-LMP39 projector lamps, so it’s recommended you change both at the same time. Watch for signs  indicating it’s time to change the projector lamp. There are several key functions that will help you manage end of life for the projector lamp.

Lamp Status

The Lamp Management Function detects the status of bots lamps and displays it on screen. The lamp status is also displayed for 5 seconds when the projector is turned on. The LAMP REPLACE indicator lights yellow when either lamp is nearing end of life.

  • ON: Yellow lamp on screen: Lamps are functioning normally.
  • OFF: Dim Lamp: Lamp is turned off and not in use.
  • NEAR END: Red lamp: Projection Lamp is nearing its end. When image becomes darker or color becomes unnatural, replace lamp. (The Lamp replace light on the projector lights yellow at the same time.
  • OUT: X Mark on lamp: The lamp has reached its end of life and fails to turn on. It may also be defective. Replace lamp corresponding with number marked X.

Lamp Mode Changeover: Lamp Management Function automatically changes the combination of lighting lamp (Lamp Mode) by detecting the status of each projector lamp. When any of the two lamps goes out, Lamp Mode is changed over from 2 lamps to 1 lamp. Lamp Mode can be switched to 2 lamps or 1 lamp manually. Check the number of lamps being used on the Lamp Status.

Step 3: How to replace the Eiki POA-LMP39 lamp

Follow these important safety steps before replacing the Eiki POA-LMP39 lamp.

  • The Eiki LC-X4LA projector operates under very high temperatures. Let it cool for one full hour before attempting to replace the lamp in order to avoid being burned.
  • Turn off the projector by pressing the power button. Wait for the light to stop flashing.
  • Turn off the power switch at the back on the projector
  • Unplug any power cords.

NOTE: To maintain quality of picture (better balance of color and brightness in entire screen), replacing both lamps at the same time.

  • Loosen the three screws on Lamp Cover and remove Lamp Cover.

  • Loosen the 2 screws. Using the wire handle and pull out the projector lamp. Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. Learn what to do should the bulb shatter.
  • Replace the Lamp Assembly. NOTE: The Eiki POA-LMP39 contains mercury and should be properly recycled. Don’t place it into regular garbage.
  • Make sure that Lamp Assembly is set properly. Tighten the 2 screws on the new lamp
  • Replace Lamp Cover and tighten 3 screws. Connect AC Power Cord to a projector and turn projector on.
  • Reset Lamp Replacement Counter.

Reset Eiki LC-X4LA lamp counter

Your Eiki LC-X4LA projector has a built in lamp counter to determine when the projector lamp should be replaced. It needs to be reset every time you replace the Eiki POA-LMP39 projector lamps. When the Lamp Replace Counter is reset, the LAMP REPLACE indicator stops lighting.

  • Turn projector on, press MENU button and ON-SCREEN MENU will appear.
  • Press POINT LEFT/RIGHT button(s) to move the red frame pointer to SETTING Menu icon. Press POINT DOWN button to move a red frame pointer to “Lamp counter reset.”
  • Press SELECT button.
  • Move arrow to select either Lamp 1 or Lamp 2. Press SELECT button.

  • Message “Lamp replace counter Reset?” is displayed.
  • Move pointer to YES and then press SELECT button.

  • Do not reset Lamp Replace Counter except after Projection lamp is replaced.

Extend the life of the Eiki POA-LMP39 projector lamp

Get more hours from your Eiki POA-LMP39 lamp by following these maintenance tips:

  • Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
  • Turn off the Eiki LC-X4LA projector and let it stand unused for at least one hour ever 24 hours. An average use of four to five hours per day will ensure longer lamp life.
  • Make sure there is enough airflow around the projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.
