Installing a new lamp

Pre-installation preparation:

1. Turn off the projector power and wait for the cool-down period which is about two minutes. Disconnect the power cord after the two minutes is over.

2. Wait at least 30 minutes to one hour for the Epson EMP-7500 projector to cool internally before opening it up. It should be cool to the touch.

NOTE: Do not operate the projectors while the lamp is removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.

 To install:

Use a screwdriver, coin, or similar object to loosen one retaining screw on the lamp cover. When the screw is loose, lift off the lamp cover. (You cannot remove this screw from the cover.)

Use a screwdriver, coin, or similar object to loosen two screws holding the lamp in position. (You cannot remove these screws.) Lift up the handle and pull out the Epson ELPLP06 projector lamp

NOTE: The Epson ELPLP06 lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps!

Gently insert the new lamp by lowering it into position. Make sure it is inserted securely.
Tighten the screws you loosened. Replace the lamp cover and tighten the cover screw.
(Make sure the lamp cover is securely fastened. The projector will not run if the lamp cover is open.)

The lamps timer be automatically be reset to zero.

Extend lamp life

Extend the life of the newly installed Epson ELPLP06 with the following tips:

  • Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
  • Turn off the Epson EMP-7500 projector and let it stand for at least one hour ever 24 hours. An average use of four to five hours per day will ensure longer lamp life.

This guide shows how to clean or replace the Epson EMP-5500 air filter.

 When to replace

Clean the air filter at the bottom of the projector after every 100 hours of use. If it is not cleaned periodically, it can become clogged with dust, preventing proper ventilation.
This can cause overheating and damage the projector. Keeping the air filter clean will prolong the life of your projector.

Changing the filter

Follow these steps to replace or clean the air filter:

  2. Turn the projector on its side so that the handle is on top and you can access the filter easily. Note: Standing the projector with the handle at the top keeps dust from getting inside the projector housing.

  1. The filter is attached to the inside of the filter cover. It is recommended that you use a small vacuum cleaner designed for computers and other office equipment to clean the filter. 2. The lamp cover is Underneath the Sanyo PLC-XT15A projector you’ll find the Lamp Cover. Gently turn the projector upside down protecting the top of the project and lsen the cover screw.

2. Remove the two screws on either side of each the Sanyo POA-LMP59  projector lamp. Grab the handle on the lamp cage and gently lift out the lamp. Place to one side. Don’t throw this lamp into the regular garbage as it contains mercury — send it to a local recycling program where it can be disposed of properly.

6. Re-connect the power cord and turn on the Sanyo PLC-XT15A projector in order to reset the Lamp Replace Counter.

Resetting the Lamp Replace Counter

The Epson EX7220 air filter should be replaced regularly. Allowing dust particles to collect in the projector can cause it to overheat and cause the lamp to explode.

Cleaning the Air Filter and Vents

Clean the projector’s air filter or vents if they get dusty, or if you see a message telling you to clean them.

      1. Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord.
      2. Gently remove the dust using a small vacuum designed for computers or a very soft brush (such as a paintbrush).Note: You can remove the air filter so you can clean both sides of it. Do not rinse the air filter in water, or use any detergent or solvent to clean it.Caution:
        Do not use canned air. The gases may leave a flammable residue or push dust and debris into the projector’s optics or other sensitive areas.
      3. If dust is difficult to remove or the air filter is damaged, replace the air filter.

      • The air filter is torn or damaged

You can replace the air filter while the projector is mounted to the ceiling or placed on a table.

    1. Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord.
    2. Carefully open the air filter cover.
    3. Pull the air filter out of the projector.

      Note: Air filters contain ABS resin and polyurethane foam. Dispose of used air filters according to local regulations.
    4. Place the new air filter in the projector as shown and push gently until it clicks into place.
    5. Close the air filter cover.

Air filters stop dust from accumulating on the optical elements inside the projector. Allowing dust particles to collect in the projector can cause it to overheat and cause the lamp to explode. Cleaning and replacing the  Optoma HD141X should be done regularly every three months. If the projector is used in a dusty environment it should be changed more frequently.

Replacing the filter

TO start
  • Switch the power off button on the remote control or on the keypad of the projector.
  • Disconnect the power cord.
  • Slowly remove the dust cover. Don’t force the lid off as this could damage the lid.
 Gently clean dust from the filters using a small brush or small computer vacuum.
If the filters are very dirty you will need to replace them.
Re-install the filter cover.
After checking for filter, turn the projector back on.
