New bulb & ballast, clicking noise & red light???

I recently replaced the bulb and ballast in my Samsung HL5687W with new parts from a reputable parts store. When I replaced both, and plugged the tv back in the tv is making a clicking noise every 2-3 seconds non-stop along with the red light on front of tv flashing off and on. I have made sure the lever on the back of the tv is either in the up or down position, neither one made a difference. I have made sure to clean all parts inside as best I could. I am just lost as to what the problem could be. Does anyone have any suggestions??? Thanks!!!

Hi lmiller.

If you're hearing a clicking noise the problem is your ballast. Maybe you got a defective one. As far as I know there's no other device inside your TV that could make that noise.
