Samsung DLP Major Problem

Postby chiefrocka » Tue Jun 23, 2009 2:55 am

I have Model# HL-R4266W and I've had it for approx. 18 months before this began. I replaced the color wheel and no difference. I reset the TV and it will work (not always)for approx. 30 minutes before it does it again. I have sound and have checked the TV using every input interface IE. RCA, Analog Antenna, HDMI, etc...I've provided both a picture of what it looks like when it begins malfunctioning and a picture after the TV was reset. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi chiefrocka.

Once your problem start try to display the TV menu, if it is also affected then my recommendation would be replacing the DMD board.

Hope this helps.

I have the HL-R4667W and had just replaced the lamp. The picture is great but now I have a high pitched noise when I turn it on and when it is turned off the noise sounds like a jet engine the is being shut down followed by a stick on the surface of box fan?

The picture is fine as far as I can tell! We had a remodel on a room in the house and the TV was very dusty. I used air to clean out the inside of the tv but that was after the noise had started . The noise starts low and builds as the TV is on to a high pitch humming noise and then when you power off, it sounds like you had ran your hand across box fan blades and then it abrubtly stops. Fan motor? Thank you for your time!

Yes, it sounds like a fan. I suggest you to tape the lamp door switch and locate which fan is producing the noise.
